Moving On - CD for young people with special needs

This CD presents everyday topics such as going to college, getting a job or living independently in a way that makes it clear and easy to comprehend.There are two basic levels, making it suitable for young people with various levels of understanding. At the most basic level, topics are communicated via words, widgets and narration. There is an option to view topics as animated line drawings based on sketches created by young people; the animations are supplemented with text and narration. For more advanced users, a pathway based menu leads to sections where topics are illustrated with simple animations of hand drawn characters and the text is backed up by narration.

A comprehensive resource for young people with special needs and their parents and carers. The young person's section is divided into 3 areas to cater for different needs. The first area of level 1 communicates using just words and narration, the 2nd shows the same topics using widgets as well as words and narration. Level 2 is for more advanced users and features age-related content backed by narration, illustrations and simple animation. The parenting resource uses photography, text and narration to provide support to parents and carers of young people with special needs. This resource was produced using feedback from parents, teachers and young people.
